Welcome to our church
Freyburg Methodist Church is a small, rural, independent congregation (formerly UMC) that meets every Sunday for worship at 8:30 am. Our worship style is traditional Methodist with Holy Communion celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
We support the local community nursing home, the food pantry, and the students and residents at Whispering Hills Achievement Center. We also meticulously maintain our beautiful, historic building which receives visitors from all over the world touring the various "painted" and other historical churches in the area. Our Pastor
Jeff Muehl
Pastor Jeff has been serving Freyburg Methodist Church since July 1, 2016. He is married to Peggy and has an adult step-son, Steven, who lives in Houston. Jeff graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2012 and was ordained an elder in the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2015. Pastor Jeff left the UMC at the same time both of his churches, Flatonia Methodist Church and Freyburg Methodist Church disaffiliated.
